Maintaining Temperature and Quality at OJSC Syzran Refinery in Russia

Rosneft, Russia's largest oil and gas company, has set up a multibillion program for the modernization and new construction ofproduction facilities.

In this context, BARTEC Russia successfully supported the Syzran refinery operated by Rosneft with full-scope engineering and supply of a new heat tracing system including nearly 14,000 m of high-quality heating cables and tapes. The plant located in the Samara region processes up to 8.5 million tons of oil per year into products such as high-quality motor fuels, jet fuel and bitumen.

In order to modernize older facilities as well as to bring new refinery units to production Syzran Refinery chose BARTEC Russia as their partner for establishing an up-to-date electrical heating system meeting all regulations. The assignment included design, survey and engineering as well as installations in seventeen facilities and pre-commissioning work. During this comprehensive project, 3,200 m of HSB heating tape as well as 500 m of PSB heating tape protecting impulse lines and instrumentation cabinets have been installed. Additionally, a long pipeline was equipped with 10,000 meters of EKL medium heating cable.

After one year BARTEC had managed to address all challenges and delivered the project in due time. The world market leader in explosion protection has been once again able to prove our competence to meet the requirements on a variety of markets worldwide.
